The Power of Buzzwords
Buzzwords are a form of mental prompts that empower you to look to yourself for answers and propel you to action in a positive and proactive way. This month I bring you a buzzword from the Life Chapter of the book. With our world at odds for so many reasons, our leaders, and the direction they take, are ever more important to us. Although politics in our world, country, state, province, workplace, and home can be overwhelming, we must acknowledge the importance of doing our part for a better future. Our voice…our vote matters! May this buzzword empower you to know that ‘you matter’ in making this world a better place.

Step Up…Speak Up
It is essential to recognize and acknowledge when something is wrong, especially when it involves hatred, injustice, or the mistreatment of others. Some may say it has become commonplace and “normal” since we see it more and more in the media, on our roads, at work, in schools, and in our homes. But there is nothing normal about this destructive behaviour, and by doing nothing, we are effectively condoning it and allowing it to continue. You may have heard the saying “All that is needed for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.” As caring, conscious human beings, we have a duty to do everything in our power to speak up against evil. The buzzword “Step Up…Speak Up” is a reminder that each of us has a responsibility to ourselves and others to take positive and proactive action when needed to bring wrongful behaviour to its rightful end.
