This month’s buzzword is:
Journal
There was a time in my life when I thought no one understood me. Hey, that was probably true because I did not understand myself either. Different voices were telling me what to do, say, wear, and above all, how to live. They were so loud I could not hear my own voice. I needed to find my voice to find my own life, so I did something that helped: I started to journal. I put pen to paper and shared my inner thoughts, fears, troubling events, achievements, dreams, life questions, and anything else I wanted to unload. There were times I was so mad I could not write fast enough, and there were times I was so sad that my writing would bring me to tears; it would inspire me and, at other times, make me laugh. The more I wrote, the more I learned why I was feeling the way I was, which helped me understand me! Journaling provided a safe place for me without interference or judgment, and it allowed me to gather my thoughts and reach out to others for help. So, when your life is a whirlwind of emotions or you’re trying to understand a specific problem or looking for direction in your life, call upon the buzzword “Journal” and find a quiet place and do just that: journal! It is a gift to yourself.
